ROH NJPW War Of The Worlds 2014

Ring of Honor and NJPW have announced the first few matches for the War of the Worlds show taking place on Tuesday 12th May at Philadelphia 2300 Arena.

The NJPW/ROH shows always bring out all the stops and anyone in the area would be advised to check out this show, the PPV will be streaming on the ROH iPPV service and comes highly recommended.

The NJPW/ROH shows always offer some dream matches and this year is no exception Night one has ReDragon facing Jushin “Thunder” Liger and Hiroshi Tanahashi in what could be a show stealing tag match.

ReDragon want to cement their status as one of the greatest tag teams in wrestling and what better way to do it then besting two of the greatest NJPW superstars in Liger and Tanahashi.

Another dream match for fans was announced as ROH superstar Michael Elgin will face NJPW hard hitter Tetsuya Naito, Elgin is on a fast track to claim the ROH title and the 2013 G1 Climax Winner Naito will prove a ferocious challenge to the hard as nails Elgin.

The card gets even better as a tantalising triple threat tag match featuring The Kingdom taking on the Former IWGP Tag team champions The Young Bucks but that’s not all add the current IWGP champions the Addiction to the mix and fans are in for one hell of a match.

The bucks will be after some retribution after their title loss and this will be kinetic, super-kick fuelled mayhem and one to keep a close eye on.

Add these matches to the already stellar announcements of Gedo Vs Delirious, KUSHIDA Vs Roderick Strong and ROH Champion Jay Lethal Vs Watanabe and this first of four crossover shows should kick things off with a bang.

Watanabe has been spending a lot of the last year touring and facing many of the ROH superstars so it will be interesting for NJPW to see his progress as he faces Jay Lethal in what should be a tough, competitive match.

The other matches for the later nights will be announced over the new few weeks ROH are pulling out all the stops for this tour and what should be an excellent week of wrestling for any fan it will be interesting to see whom “the Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada  and IWGP Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles will face as they are both scheduled to appear but no matches have been announced to date.

ROH/NJPW always deliver on these shows and couple this with the UKs own Rev Pro adding Nakamura to their York Hall super-show 2015 is shaping up to be great for overseas NJPW fans.
