Money in the bank usually is an indication of who the WWE are going to push for the next half year and the actual MITB has some interesting prospects and hopefully sees someone given a bit of the spotlight they deserve. Coupled with an under-card which could deliver this PPV may be worth keeping an close eye on.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin
Baron Corbin is in need of a W here and finally put to rest this Dolph Ziggler feud, both are talented wrestler but haven’t clicked together in the squared circle.
The best option would be to assert the domination that Corbin had in his NXT tenure here and make quick work of the show off allowing him to move onto a better program.
Baron Corbin to win.
Apollo Crews vs. Sheamus
Sheamus has been great in the buildup to this one and although it has been billed as the new guard taking over I feel that Sheamo will actually take the win here in what could be an excellent match. Apollo Crews has an innovative offence and is a great match for the Irish brawler.
Sheamus to take the victory for the old guard and keep this feud alive for a while possibly with the addition of more NXT alumni.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Seth Rollins
This is going to be a bittersweet pill to swallow; on one hand its great to have Seth Rollins back but on the flip side does he really need to suffer the (inevitable?) loss here against Roman Reigns.
Seth Rollins will have a lot to prove on his quest to reclaim the WWE heavyweight championship but his rightful place on the throne won’t come here tonight at MITB as the WWE are still pushing Reigns down the collective throats of the WWE universe.
Roman Reigns to retain.
Money In The Bank Ladder Match: Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro vs. Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Alberto Del Rio
This will be one to watch and could possibly steal the show at this PPV all eyes will be on these hungry competitors and its had to pick a winner out of this lot. The favourable option would be Dean Ambrose or Kevin Owens but all 6 superstars are proving their worth in the run up to this ladder match.
I am going to lean towards Kevin Owens after he and Sami Zayn batter each other with Owens taking the MITB, imagine the plotting and assertion he will have with that briefcase looming over the champion.
Kevin Owens to win the Money in the Bank Briefcase.
AJ Styles vs. John Cena
Aj Styles has proven his worth at the WWE tenfold over the last few PPVs, carrying Roman Reigns through an enjoyable match at extreme rules and joining his buddies from the Club to set his targets on John Cena.
The returning Cena has a valuable position here to push Aj into the stratosphere and if you take into consideration his US Title run last year and how he helped to shape some of the mid card this could legitimise Styles with any of the few naysayers he has in the WWE.
Aj Styles to defeat John Cena in a hardfought bout.
Fatal Fourway Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) (c) vs. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows vs. Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. The Vaudevillains
The New Day are super over with the WWE universe and I don’t think that a loss here would hurt their credentials, their cooing and admiration of Enzo and Cass is mutual and this could be the perfect time to give them the tag straps and continue to use Kofi and crew to push them further.
Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows are the wild card here, their decimation of the Uso twins has set them as a great threat to the championship but, much like the New Day they don’t need the titles to further anything so in this case I can discount them.
Expect the storied history of Enzo/Cass and the Vaudevillians to play a central role in this fast paced and energetic bout. Hopefully this is given time to ferment and push a story that could set up a shift in momentum for the Tag division.
Enzo Amore and Big Cass to win the championships.
United States Championship Match: Rusev (c) vs. Titus O’Neil
The Returning Titus O’neil will sadly just be fodder for the entertaining Rusev as he once again retains the United States championship.
This could be an interesting match as both men are decent wrestlers and it’ll be good to see what direction O’Neil is going to take upon his return.
Rusev to retain.
Women’s Tag Team Match: Charlotte and Dana Brooke vs. Natalya and Becky Lynch
This Women’s match seems like an hodgepodge of an bout and to not have the Women’s Title defended on the PPV is an unwise move, Dana Brooke has a great in ring style and hopefully she swerves the WWE universe and turns on champion Charlotte Flair and sets up a fresh feud for the division.
Becky Lynch and Natalya to win via DQ.
