NJPW‘s upcoming PPV, Wrestle Kingdom 9, will be broadcast live around the world, with former WWE announcer Jim Ross providing the play-by-play, in English, courtesy of Jeff Jarrett and Global Force Wrestling.
Ross has previously stated that, sadly, this could be his last announcing gig.
The PPV, airing on January 5th, costs just $34.99 (this will be transferred into local currency via the Flipps App). American viewers will be able to watch via a number of other avenues, but this will be a much easier way to order the PPV than NJPW‘s overseas fans are currently used to.
Fans could also watch the PPV, plus loads of excellent archive material, on the NJPW World Service for 999 yen a month – a wonderful play on the Network‘s $9.99 – which is around £5.30 comparatively.
The service is currently only available in Japanese, but plans are under way to reach a global audience with an English website and PS3 Console App scheduled for release in the near future.
The card is absolutely stacked for the show, with the Main Event set for IWGP Heavyweight Championship match, with Hiroshi Tanahashi (C) facing up against Kazuchika Okada – sure to be a match of the year contender.
Wrestle Kingdom 9 airs January 5th 2015.
